Each year, multilateral organizations allocate billions of euros in projects through international tenders. In fact, only the World Bank (WB) approved a budget of 60,000 million euros last year. Through Tenerife Licita, the Cabildo de Tenerife and the Chamber of Commerce are working to promote the process of internationalization of companies through the competition to public competitions convened by multilateral organizations.
At present, the Club Tenerife Licita is integrated by more than twenty companies, both private and public. each of its partners, who have 25 years of average experience, 1,850 employees, and a cumulative turnover of 22 million euros.
The objective of the Cabildo and the Chamber of Commerce with this initiative is to prepare the productive fabric of the Island so that it can access with a guarantee of success to the international bidding market, which annually moves more than 120,000 million euros. Only the European Union will allocate 90,000 million euros until 2020 to cooperation projects in third countries, of which more than 30% will go to Africa.
In order to access this entire market, Club Tenerife Licita offers services, ranging from the search for personalized business opportunities, assistance in drafting documentation, review of the final offer, help in the identification of partners or collaborators and follow-up of obtaining a contract.
A large part of the activities of this Club are aimed at fostering inter-business collaboration through the creation of alliances among the members of this network. In addition to promoting the approach to interlocutors from financial institutions, multilateral organizations, multinationals, among others.
Tenerife Licita also has the support of the World Bank, since the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife is part of its network of support offices for the private sector (Private Sector Liaison Officers-PSLO), which makes available to entrepreneurs, the necessary means to benefit from these opportunities and diversify markets.
The main multilateral organizations calling for public tenders are: the World Bank Group, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the African Development Bank, the European Investment Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Union European Union and the United Nations.
