The Tenerife Licita platform brings together companies from all over the country on October 18 to promote commercial internationalization. The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the Area of Tourism, Internationalization and External Action, celebrates next October 18 along with the Chamber of Commerce of Santa Cruz de Tenerife the II Encounter of Bidding Companies of Spain, which will take place in the headquarters cameral of the Tenerife capital with the presence of companies from all over Spain. This meeting is organized by Tenerife Licita, the public-private collaboration platform of the Cabildo that pursues the internationalization of island companies.
The insular councilor of Acción Exterior, Delia Herrera, underlined the role played by Tenerife as a bridge to open and improve institutional relations with other countries; in this case, establishing commercial bridges with the African continent. «The support to the internationalization of the companies that we carry out from the Cabildo, through Tenerife Licita, is reinforced with these meetings of bidding companies in which Tenerife becomes an international platform to operate with Africa, in particular from the continent European».
The program of the day will consist of a round table, with the participation of representatives of the World Bank, EuropeAid – European Commission and the African Development Bank, which will discuss the context and opportunities offered by the African market for Spanish companies , through international tenders. Subsequently, individual meetings will be held between the participating companies (B2B), as well as between the companies and the invited speakers, each of them with a maximum duration of 20 minutes.
This meeting has the collaboration of other Spanish entities such as ICEX Spain, Casa África, the Chamber of Commerce of Spain, EXTENDA Andalucía, Extremadura AVANTE, IVACE Valencia, ADE Castilla y León, ASTUREX, IPEX Castilla La Mancha, SODERCAN Cantabria Group and the Chambers of Commerce of Zaragoza and Cáceres, with which there will be participation of companies from these regions.
Once the registration period of the companies has been closed, which ends on October 6, all the participants will be sent the list of enrollees, so that they can request individual interviews with those companies and institutions of their interest. From the organization they will be informed of the closed meetings prior to the event.
The organizers hope that this action will constitute a meeting forum in which companies share contacts, experiences and opportunities for collaboration, generating synergies that will lead them to launch joint multilateral projects.
A total of 34 companies in the 2016 meeting
The First Meeting of Bidding Companies, held in November 2016 in Seville, brought together 34 companies from all over Spain, a forum in which more than 150 interviews were held to encourage the cooperation of firms in the multilateral market. The objective of this meeting was to promote the cooperation of bidding companies in the multilateral market, in particular of consulting and engineering companies, from different parts of Spain, so that they can study potential collaborations in this market.

Since its creation, just over two and a half years ago, Tenerife Licita has identified and disseminated almost 1,500 business opportunities, solved half a thousand consultations and organized or participated in more than 30 training sessions, trade missions, conferences and networking meetings. All this has resulted in the presentation of proposals for more than 70 projects, the obtaining of four contracts and the presence in 10 international consortiums through six companies of Tenerife Licita.
